Steep Smarts
Grandpa Style
With nothing but a cup, this is the most straightforward way to brew tea with little effort.

Gaiwan
Versatile and convenient, a gaiwan offers the most control and is ideal for all teas. Subtleties in flavor become more apparent with multiple steepings when gongfu style brewing is used with a gaiwan. The lid allows for filtering tea leaves as the tea is being poured while the shape is conducive to easily changing pour strength or speed.

Teapot
The teapot is synonymous with tea. The real beauty of it comes in the convenience and various sizes and materials that make up the teapot, which allows for serving multiple people at the same time and maintaining different temperature ranges.

Yixing Teapot
Much like certain teas, the yixing teapot (aka purple clay teapot) has a life of its own. Aroma is locked in and heat retention is on a separate level altogether. The clay absorbs the flavors of the tea it holds over time, gradually accumulating flavor and eventually reaching a point where it can enhance a tea’s flavor as the leaves steep inside. This is why one yixing teapot should be reserved for one tea type.
